Correct Greasing Technique
Greasing incorrectly can be as damaging as not greasing at all. Overpacking can rupture seals, allowing water and dirt ingress. Under-greasing leaves metal surfaces in contact. The correct technique is: clean the nipple before attaching the grease gun, apply grease slowly until fresh grease appears at the seal, and wipe away expelled grease to prevent dirt adhesion. For large pins, rotate or cycle the joint during greasing to distribute the grease evenly around the full contact surface.
